Object: To introduce instruments of physician-pharmacist collaboration and provide suggestions for the construction and development of physician and pharmacist collaborative relationship in China. Method: Abstracts research written in English and Chinese was conducted on CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, Medline/Pubmed from 1999 to September 2019. Keywords included pharmacists, physicians and terminologies containing the meaning of collaboration and pharmacy. Results:Based on collaborative theories and models, 4 types of physician and pharmacist collaboration instruments were identified, including Physician/Pharmacist Collaboration Index (PPCI), Scale of Attitudes Toward Physician-Pharmacist Collaboration (SATP2C), Frequency of Interprofessional Collaboration Instrument (FICI) and Attitudes Towards Collaboration Instrument (ATCI). The analysis of each instrument indicates differences in content, validation, usage, basic models and settings. Conclusion:The successful experiences of developing PPC models and instruments in foreign countries place an emphasis on broaden and widen responsibilities of pharmacists, hospital managers and pharmacists’ more proactive attitudes towards collaboration and development of PPC instruments in China. The analysis of validated PPC models and instruments leads to the construction of a model and instrument of Physician-Clinical Pharmacist Attitudes Toward Collaboration in China which includes Interactional Determinants, Environmental Determinants and Role Specification. |
